The Barbie fashionistas doll line has been all about diversity in skin tones and body types. Now it's including people with disabilities. The Barbiefashionistas with wheelchair doll, a wheelchair has actually been one of the most requested accessories from Barbie fans.

And both the Caucasian and African American version of the doll sit in a blue wheelchair that has real rolling wheels. Mattel worked with UCLA Mattel Children's Hospital and wheelchair experts to design. The wheelchair which is modeled after one design for an individual with a permanent physical disability.

A clip keeps it all in place while sitting in the chair. There are even breaks that stop the wheels from rolling. I think this definitely offers more diversity and allows another group of Barbie fan to see themselves represented through Barbie.
